Tested without any change. I think that is one distributors thread broken.
This happens somewhat often on these designed HVS, flat distributor cap, rotor assemblies keeping the engine from starting or running correctly.

Check the rotor to ensure it seated properly too...(Not sitting cockeyed)

Most likely the issue, good luck.

I have checked the rotor and turns perfect. I don’t know what’s happening.

The HVS distributor has a metal body and a plastic cap.
Edit: maybe I should say not all are metal
With putting some gas down the TB we know that its not missing gas its missing spark.

Remove the distributor cap, then bump the starter until the notch on the harmonic balancer aligns with the pointer on the timing chain cover.

Now look at the pic below to see if the rptor is aligned with the marking on the distributor. If its pointing 180* on the other side, bump the starter around until the balancer aligns again (only 1 - 360* rotation)

Do not rotate the distributor to align

Yes, it have a weak plastic body.
yet another one of GM's less good ideas! On my old boat everything is metal! Simple points distributor with centrifugal spark advance! People make fun of me and my old boat but I get the last laugh. Things that were made to last and to be repaired not just thrown away.

suggestion:
when its fixed and running well sell it and get a late model outboard powered boat.
That’s the idea. I have two more boats with yamaha 115b extra long without any problem. Now we are going to buy a Monterrey with a 225 Mercury Outboard. I have a beneteau 41.1 with a yanmar. I have a small charter company and I don’t have any problem with my boats, except with the Mercruiser. This engine is an headache.

Yesterday we check coil and spark with a tester. OK. 12v in coil driver and coil. Fuel pump sounds. Injectors sounds with the diagnostic machine. Coil and pump too.
The fuel pressure shows only 40 and drop quickly to 28-30, and drop slowly.
I don’t know if my fuel pressure gauge it’s fine and nobody here have one...
Next time, I’ll try this:
1. Check return fuel line.
2. Check vacuum from tank to fuel pump.
3. Check injectors signal with a logical lamp.
4. Check signal from coil and driver.
5. Open a hole in the hull.

If you have a air compressor with a regulator, adjust it to a given pressure and see if the fuel gauge reads close to the same.

3. Check injectors signal with a logical lamp.

This would be a good check, noid light

I don’t have a compressor, but I can try it with a bike pump.
I don’t have Noid light. I’ll buy one.
Many thanks.

To verify what is happening when motor is cranking

300 rpms are seen on the tachometer
noid light is flashing on individual injectors
12V is seen on pink wire at the coil
Fuel pressure stays up

If all above is true it should start or at least backfire

Is the distributor cap staying in place tight?

Yes to all. But still dead.

It doesn't make since. A motor needs air, fuel, spark and compression to burn fuel. If compression was low the fuel would still burn, just not very well

Was spark checked with spark gap tester on plug wire ends?

If so I got nothing
