Re: Mercruiser 5.7 "Blue Water Engine"

I was speaking to someone who has a used drop in engine for sale, with just 100 hours on it. He claims it is a "heavier duty" engine, in comparison to a standard 5.7 Mercruiser.

Just wondered if anyone else had heard about these and if so, what the differences were?

Thanks,

I service a twin with those engines, other than being a inboard application usually with the FWC package, there is no difference.Just remember if it`s from a inboard with a aft mounted starter you will need your flywheel

Thanks for the info guys!

I'm looking at replacing one of the engines in a twin screw Chaparral [5.7 I/O] I just bought. It sounds like this engine would be ok after a few parts are swapped over.

Thanks,
