Hi all,
Not a set up I’m familiar with at all and haven’t had a look in person, but I’ve committed to replacing a friends raw water impeller on his set up as above. Does anyone have an idea of the part number for this ? She’s from around ‘97-99 with closed cooling and shaft driven (engine is reversed from normal outdrive set up).
Thanks

Damn, no serial number. We could have looked up the right pump with a serial number. Also, LH rotation is 'normal', not reversed.

Looked it up. Given the plugs spec'ed on the engine tag, it's a Gen+ (Vortec) engine, and they were only used from 1998 for MIEs, and beyond 98 they were injected, so I think we can assume 1998.
Given that, it looks like the pump impeller is 47-593621

Good luck.

Thanks Chris. Appreciated. I perhaps should have worded it better. When I said reversed…I meant that the actual engine is 180 degrees from the normal outdrive engine. As in its drive end is forward facing and into a v drive, then shaft drive.
Brilliant info Chris.

Yeah, that's a standard set up for a V-drive. Pulley end of the engine faces the stern.

Oh, that model number, MIE 5.7L BWI, means Blue Water Inboard. ;)

Excellent Chris. After reading your advice…think I might have found the part. I hope. Does 59362t1 sound about right ?

Use THIS link, scroll down and see where it's used. Looks about right to me. Although I'd be more inclined to buy 59362T6. (it's the impeller service kit and includes the o-rings and wear plate)

But as I advise most people, don't buy parts until you have the thing apart, you may need more (or a kit) once you get an eyeball on the job...

Superb Chris. Once again, can’t thank you enough. The boat isn’t that local to me, so was thinking initially to go armed with the part in hand…but having read this…I think I’ll take your advice and take the thing off first and see exactly what it is. Thanks again…Allan.
