Re: Mercruiser 5.7L V8 235HP engine problem
is it reasonable to think the shop that put in the rebuilt Mercruiser V8 230HP that I bought from the previous owner about 15 months ago will help me out with the repair work? I have the receipt from the shop and from the sale of boat with dates. What can you expect when you are dealing with a rebuilt engine and what standards exist for backing up material and labor? I am guessing it's been about 15 times out in salt water and on a few lakes, hard to say how many miles. The hours are about 1 day each time...I called the shop last year before the purchase and they told me there would not be any warranty..on the other hand wouldn't one expect exhaust system to perform a bit longer under normal conditions. I just don't see that I put abnormal use on the boat.
QUOTE=achris;4392550]Even before you do that, you should get the water out of the cylinders. Just remove the plugs and spin it over with the starter.... If you let the water sit, you may lose the engine.
