Your probably in a slight twist, so one needs to go higher or lower then the other side
If your front mounts aren't at the same height, this side to side twist can happen.My experience says a high front mount can push the engine to the opposite side. I engage my alignment tool into the coupler, but just short of engaging the gimbal brg. Then I orbit the tool around, and observe the clearance between the tool's gimbal bearing pilot and the bearing's bore. More clearance on top - lower the front mounts, more on bottom, raise. Wide on the left, lower the left mount, etc. If the visual gap is centered, but it still won't slurp in, the bearing may have been cocked during assy. Then use
