oh boy, here we go again!! Straight 30 weight is used in alot of boats. I personally run mobile 1 20w 50 in my 3.0.

There should be seals, & your local dealer will know what you need...
You risk water intrusion with out them......JK

John A, please start a new thread. Don't hijack someone elses thread. This keeps the thread on the same subject.
Anytime there is oil or water to seal, there will be a seal or gasket. Best advise, BUY a FACTORY MANUAL. It will show EVERY seal and gasket. I am assuming you know how to properly change the lower unit oil, from the bottom up.
