I have a '90 Mercruiser 5.7 / 260 and having trouble with the trailer switch. It blew a fuse the other day, replaced the fuse then intermittently the trailer switch or the trim switch won't work.

Manual #6 doesn't show the control I have. Single lever, trim up top, trailer switch is square. This manual shows a 3 round button switch.
I also looked at # 14, this control pg 1c-16 looks similar but physically its not the same. Not sure about wiring since I haven't pulled the cover off the control handle.
Any ideas if there is another manual. I'm questioning if the trim switch is grounding out and causing the issue or is the trailer switch itself is bad. Trying to insure I order the right part and not go down the wrong path. From the nature of how many posts there are about trim switches I would guess I'm over do for replacing it. It is the original.... boat probably has 300-400 hours on it.
