PLEASE HELP !
I accidentally cracked the bell housing ! I can’t figure out which bell housing should I order I just don’t want to order the wrong one ! I can’t find the serial nimber for bell housing found one on outdrive but it’s not big help! I appreciate any advice in advance !

Actually us having the outdrive serial number would be a big help and knowing the general year of the boat/and/or engine/drive components.

470 1976-1977

470 1978-1982

I know it is 90s model ! And the serial number on outdrive, what I could find is 5475955 and on the engine block serial nimber is 14096284 GM and there is a other number in engine block 471511! And the nimber on the steering pin is 98239 !

Is it just that little piece broke out by the shift slide?

If so, it would cost a ton less the have it welded back together. If you have the piece that makes it really fast, but even without it that is an easy fix with no structural issues.

That's a 'late model MC1' housing. Not 90s... Not even close. That style drive and bell housing finished in 1982.

Part number for the bell housing is -42815A6

No it has other chip options n back side ! I just got one ordered ! Thank you for your help

That should teach you a lesson on "prying"

To save everyone else the trouble cut 4 pieces of 2 x 3 at 4,5, 6, and 7 inches
With trim cylinders attached and nuts removed activate up trim/trailer button with the shortest piece. . When limit of movement is reached, lower and insert the next longer piece etc until drive comes off.

Have you ever tried to TIG aluminium that has been sat in salt for any length of time? If you have, you wouldn't be suggesting it!

More than once. If you can get into clean metal it will work. You will have to grind a bunch! He should try or search market for used or new.

I do it for a living with all-aluminum boats. TIG beats hell out of MIG when the metal is dirty, which with boats it always is. You see what it is like with an aluminum box dump truck!
