Mercruiser D 1,7 DTI won't stop (!)

Hello everyone.

I just bought a used boat with one of these engines in it.
It has only 44 hrs, and starts and runs smoothly.
However, it won't stop. I have to open the engine compartment, and manually flip over the emergency stop valve (located in front of the diesel pump).

Turning the ignition off, or even pulling the emergency stop switch won't do a thing.

I'm assuming there's a diesel shut-off valve / solenoid somewhere, but really don't know where to begin.

Any and all advice welcome!

Ayuh,... I don't know the motor, but it should be between the transfer pump,+ the injection pump...

I'm not familiar with that engine either, but here is a link to download the OEM service manual from. You want manual #29.
