2 problems with my mercruiser diesel inboard at present.
the first is that the oil pressure gauge always used to build up to 80 psi at tick over and stay there solid but now it drops off to nothing at tick over and will go up to 80 psi on full revs and goes between o and 80 relative to the revs. also at tick over the oil warning light either comes on or flickers. checked the oil and it doesn't smell of diesel or feel any thinner. any ideas???

the 2nd thing is that the throttle is very responsive up to 2000 revs and has good acceleration but then the pick up from 2000 and above is very very slow but it will get up to max revs after what seems like an eternity.
any ideas????

Re: mercruiser diesel playing up

Thanks for the reply. I done a full service about 1 month ago but used replacement filters which I am about to change for original parts

Which Mercruiser diesel do you have? Merc has used many different ones over the years.
