You want to install one? If so, just bolt it on to the hull, with the cannister hanging down. Use two 3/8" ID brass hose barbs and connect it between the fuel tank and the fuel pump. Double clamp the fuel lines.

Yes...
Also, ensure you have enough fuel line as to not make any real sharp bends if not absolutely necessary. Make sure you have ample space to remove/install the filter without having to be a contorsionist if possible. Buy GOOD stainless steel clamps, NOT the el-cheapo soft metal types I see quite frequently.

Don't make any sharp bends even if absolutely necessary. Reroute or re position to avoid them.
