mercruiser gimbal housing

Can anyone tell me how you can determine if the housing on the boat is alpha or bravo. I have a housing on my boat but no sterndrive is connected to it. i know i need a bravo but want to make sure the housing on the boat is not bravo before i get it off and spend 2500 for a new one.thanks

Posting a pic would be the easiest and sure fire way.
