Mercruiser Gimble ring lower pin slop

This spring I replaced the Bravo 1 gimble ring, steering shaft and pin, all upper and lower transom shield bushings for the upper shaft and lower swivel pin. The upper steering shaft still feels tight but the lower swivel pin has some slop if I lift up on the drive. Is that normal after using for the summer to see some slop from wearing in?

If you can lift it up and down the nut on the swival shaft needs to be tigthen more.There should be a SS thin washer between the gimbal ring and the gimbal housing on the lower pin you are talking about,that washer should be just barly touching both sides if it is not tighten the nut till it is.

The nut on the swivel shaft is correct, it doesn't go up and down vertically. The slop is more in and out kind of hard to describe. If I grab the prop and pull away from the transum while lifting you can see the gimbal ring move back and forth twards and away from transum. I would say probably
.010 - .020 difference between OD of lower pin and ID of lower gimbal ring bushing. Slop as you would see from the gimbal ring pivoting on the lower pin.
