When I bought my carb rebuild kit, the store had deals on a distributor cap, rotor and wire combination, so I bought one. I replaced the cap, rotor and plugs. I am now sitting with a 2004 4.3 Merc carb with 155 hours.
My debate is whether to save the new wires for a later day or go ahead and replace the original wires with the new Magstar Marine ones.
The original mercruiser wires have no signs of any cracks or corrosion. They look great.
Would you expect better performance from aftermarket magstar wires, or the same performance? If the same, I guess I will just save them for a later day.
