Mercruiser Interchange Swapout???

I Have A 1981 Wellcraft I Just Picked Up For Restoration... And Im Kinda New To The Merc Family So I Was Wondering What Other Year Merc Outdrive I Could Use On It.... The Newer Merc Drive I Mean They All Kind Of Look The Same.....???? Its A 898 305 V8

Ayuh,.... You can use outdrives Up to,+ including the Alpha 1....

The Alpha 1, Gen.II will Not work for you....
