Mercruiser/Mercury Outboard

Are Mercruiser I/O props and Mercury Outboard props interchangeable in the similar HP range. Going to look at an aluminum 15x17 prop tomorrow that is in good shape and cheap. It is black but do not know for sure what brand yet. current prop is 14.5x17.

Ayuh,....

Large gear case outboards, Alphas 1,+ 2,+ Bravos use a 4, 1/2" barreled prop,.....
Mid-sized outboards are 4".....
Propshafts are the same...
