i just bought a mercruiser riser elbow advertised as part no. "98504A3"

The box said quicksilver 98504A3 BUT the actual elbow is stamped "98503C" and does not say merc anywhere. Looks like actual merc with the tell tale stainless tube and pins but the number concerns me (se.

I have now bought 4 risers including this one on ebay. All were advertised as OEM Merc. 2 were blatant counterfiet fakes with part numbers ground off and repainted but in OEM packaging. One immediately gave refund and one said they didn't ship that to me. interested to hear your take.

Does anyone know if this is correct, fake, counterfiet, old version? Did I get what was advertised?

The number you supplied, on Google, appears to support that as a legit number.

My elbows are Aqua Power, but they have the same angles and holes as the Merc elbows, so I am running them and have seen no problems doing so.

Was that number stamped in or cast in the elbow. It sounds like a casting number. Mercruiser doesn't always use the catalog part number as a casting number. The part number in the catalog can change for any number of reasons, but the casting number in the foundry doesn't change.

Its raised numbers, cast in the elbow on the side. I would have thought it would have the part number cast in it and say mercruiser, NO?
