Mercruiser shift interrupter

What kind of resistance would a good shift interrupter have? I tested it last night and with the button pressed it showed .4 ohms. Is this good or bad?

Hmm, it's an on off switch. Would not have occurred to me to check resistance, only continuity.

Sounds fine. it only grounds the ignition. Just activate the switch, if your engine stalls it works.

0.4 is close enough to zero to ground the iginition signal. So that will work for sure.

That 0.4Ω is probably the resistance of the leads...
