Hey guys,

I just received a used stainless merc prop. (13 7/8 x 23) The hub appears to be solid. (plastic maybe?) Is this pretty common? Guess I better be careful not to run this prop into anything.

It's probably a square bore prop to accept the Flo Torq hub type replaceable hub systems.

It's not. It is a round bore and it has a hub in it.. its just not rubber.

Does the hub press in from the motor side or the nut side?

That hub should be the replaceable type. Try pushing it out. You may have to use something to tap on it, they stick pretty easy. The standard pressed in rubber hub loads from the nut side.

Merc makes a couple different styles of hubs, a lot of guys don't like the plastic one. When pushing in a new one a lot of guys use grease to help it slide in. I like to use soap, it's a lot neater.
