1990 350 Thunderbolt Ignition Alpha 1-
Would like to know if my tach is bad or if there is a wire problem.
I've read this on this site:
For the tach to work: You need black (ground), purple (key on power) and gray for the signal. With engine running, test the connections with electrical tester. When revved up, the gray signal wire should read a few volts. Barely any at idle. For tach lighting, you also need the blue wire.
Does that apply to my application. I know on cars the tach reading is from the coil, not sure on my ignition where to start looking.
Can someone tell me where the signal starts, what color wire, etc....
Thank you in advance.
John
