I just bought a 1996 Crownline with a 3.0 L LX Alpha 1 I/O Mercruiser boat I had to pull the distributor to reseal the lifter cover and now I need to reset the timing and need to know what RPMs I need to run and what degree it needs to be set at.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Re: mercruiser timing

Do you have a service manual?

I'm not sure about the 96 but I think you have a Thunderbolt electronic ignition. You timing MUST be set according to the service manual procedures.

It cannot be set the conventional way.

Go here for the manual
