i want to reseal my 888 outdrive this winter but hate the prices of all the tools required to do it right does anyone know where to get them cheaper or good ways to make your own tools? help

them tools is cost prohibitive to say the least...

do you have a leak? if so, perhaps concentrate on that.

if your like me, i'd love to reseal, but i ain't gonna. my seals hold pressure and vacuum. they are ok right now. so since it's so cost prohibitive, i'll leave well enough alone.

i did the ft. seal in my drive a couple years ago. i was able to borrow a few special tools from my dealer. nice fellas that they are. get to know your local dealer for that kinda treatment. i buy all my mercruiser parts there and they know me by name. don't always work, but sometimes it may...

i've no good info on where to get the tools if ya gotta buy. iboats has quite a few in aftermarket..... still pricey to get into it..

The main tools can be had thru NAPA in their marine catalog.

Thanks guys i will probably reevaluate, i know there is a leak i couldnt find it so i was just gonna replace it all guess i will have to break down and take it in to have it pressure tested.
