Hello
While on the lake yesterday my trim button failed but the trailer button worked.

The guy that works on my boat is telling me it's the Trim Solenoid?

Does this Trim Solenoid exist in this boat?
My limited boat knowledge tells me there is a starter Solenoid for the motor and Trim Sender Units for my problem?

The Port switch is the Trim Limit Switch. This limits how far up the drive will trim.
The Starboard switch is the Trim Level Sender switch. This sends a signal to the trim gauge

Is my mechanic confused or am I confused?

Thanks
Gabe

There are actually 2 trim solenoids on the trim pump. One for up, and one for down. But if your trailer button works and the trim button doesn't, that isn't a solenoid problem as much as a trim limit switch problem.

Here is a link to the service manual. Section 1C details testing the trim circuit to locate the problem. Section 5 has even more info.
