Re: Mercruiser varible pitch prop

I understand the theory and benefits of a variable pitch prop, I was just unaware that they made them at some point in time for mercs. I just came across this one on a boat for sale and was wondering who manufactured it, and how it works. Seems to have a strange hub assembly. Anyone have one of these perhaps?

Ayuh,.... That's a Merc. Aerostar prop...

I'm runnin' a Land & Sea's Torque-Shift prop..

The Merc. version shifts from 1 pitch to another pitch, a couple inches...

The L&S starts at 11" pitch, 'n continuously up-shifts as the motor makes torque, til it tops out at whatever pitch ya set it to, from 'bout 20" to 26"s...

Ayuh,... Actually, the Torque-shift is fully supported, even Better than when L&S was doin' 'em..
A retire shop teacher from California bought out the supply, 'n rights on 'em,...
Check 'em out,...

Here's the website for the other 1s,... It appears they're also still available...
