I have read the stickys and hope that I post my question clearly enough to get help. I tried to research it and I must saw I am very impressed with the knowledge on this forum.
I have a mercruiser 350 engine serial number tag located above starter say D842217, with a bravo 2 out drive. I know in sticky the boat make doesnt matter but it is a 1993 Rinker 260vee. I believe it to be a 350 mag but not sure the difference between a reg and mag. Anyways 2 years ago i took the boat to a reputable service dealer and had new impeller, bellows, shift cable, gimble bearing installed. Due to life i never took the boat out once after the service. It was winterized properly and so this summer i took the muffs out to start it up to get ready for the summer season. I noticed that that risers were getting too hot to touch and that the temp gauge was reading in the 190's. I also noticed that while running on muffs that there is no water coming from the prop hub area or basically anywhere (no discharge). I would think that the brand new impeller would be working properly but nothing surprises me anymore. What steps should i take to make sure that my engine cools properly, i.e. how do i check impeller and since it should be good what would be step 2. Please have patience with me for I am not the most boat engine savey guy, but I am not afraid to get dirty and try. Thanks in advance.
