Hi all, Noob here.
2003 185 Bayliner
4.3L Mercruser
Alpha one outdrive
I have a slightly damaged mercruser prop with about a 1/4" chunk out of one blade. I was wondering (if I bought the exact replacement) do I need the hub kit as well? Everything with my existing hub parts seem OK.
Being new at this powerboat sport, I wasn't sure if it was recommended to replace the hub as well.
Thanks,
Joe

Mercury recommends replacing the drive sleeve when replacing propellers. The sleeve can be purchased separately for about 20 bucks, or the complete flo-torq kit for $60.

Your boat is ten years old the rubber is drying out on that hub I would get a new one. Keep this hub and prop as a spare in case you ever need one for an emergency.

Yep, just buy a new drive sleeve and keep the old one around so you have a spare.
