Don't ease into gear, unless you want to be replacing Expensive Parts like Gears and Clutch Dogs, These motors either in gear or out of Gear. a Quick and Smart movement of the Shift Lever is best. If you hear Clicking Sounds, you are shifting too slow.

Your correct Prop is determined by the RPM you attain at WOT, Your engines range is 5000 - 5500 rpm
I suspect you will get best Performance with a 3 blade 17" pitch prop. that will also load the engine lighter and you will be able to retard the Timing more to get the 600-650 idle speed. that will be a wee bit slower than a 19 at 600-650.

If the Primer Buld is not working, just replace it, you have to go to the back to reconnect the fuel line, you unhooked it to run the carbs dry. An electrical Inline pump will probably provide Too Much Fuel Pressure, when on, and add too much restriction when off. I assume that this Pump is USCG certified?

As you are learning ,a Boat is a Hole in the Water that you Continually pour Money into

Good to know. In my shift lever I had an issue where the roller has actually worn flat spots in it so it was dragging instead of rolling when I was trying to shift forward. That’s when I noticed the most issues with the clicking. I cut the shaft of a punch that was the same diameter and replaced the roller and it made a huge difference in how smooth it was to operate.

right now with the 19p I’m going about 45-48mph at max speed. But unsure of rpm. That is the prop that cane with the boat. 16’ deltacraft.

primer bulb still works just fine. But have an in-line pump that I would’ve put on the hardline from the tank. One issue I never thought of though is if I lost prime. With no primer bulb. I did debate about restriction. It was more of a pipe dream then anything.

boating is almost as much of a money burn as snowmobiling. This boat is actually my old boat, I bought an ebbtide campione 220 with a 7.4l Yamaha stern drive. But I was wanting to do done maintenance on it this summer so it might be out of the water or a month so wanted to use my old one to go out fishing. Plus it will be a lot easier to launch by myself especially recovering from back surgery.
