Mercury 1150 questions

Hello,this is my first post so be easy on me <br />i just boat a 20ft boat with a merc 1150<br />motor.it has been sitting for awhile and<br />just needs carb cleaning/rebuilding.<br />how do i figure out the model year so i can<br />order parts?<br />i'm trying to get it running to sell so i<br />can buy a late model outboard.thanks

post the serial number and one of these guys can tell you what year model it is. There should be a tag with model and serial #'s on the transom mount.

looks like 4I15699<br />the 2nd front left looks like an "I"<br />if not i guess it's a "1".<br />115hp mercury inline 6<br />longshaft

Looks like 1975 but you should order parts by serial number anyway. Sometimes changes were made mid-model year.
