Mercury 1150 tower of power parts fitment

Hey guys I'm working on a 75 merc 1150.
I see a lot of parts online however a lot are no longer available or have changed to new replaced parts. A lot of parts I find on Ebay are 1978 up. Although my new prop fits that was 1978 up?? Does anyone know if the mercs all years and parts are interchangeable. Gaskets pumps ext.

Over the years there were a few different series of the 115, so there is no blanket answer to that. In some cases parts will fit and may or may not work properly, in other cases they won't even fit.

As Jimmbo said some items changed over the years. Ign systems up to 1979 1/2 should fit. Carb kits should fit, as you likely have sidebowl carbs.. You probably don't have backdraft carbs, but most sidebowl kits will fi anyway. Pistons should be available as should gasket kits..

Coils will look different but should work. Spark plug wires, dist caps should fit. Stator should be 2 wire ones. Wiring harnesses should fit.

Fuel pumps you will need to match up.. Newer TOPs had figure 8 shaped ones. Older motors had single or dual triangle shaped fuel pumps. props for inline 4/6 motors will fit.

It would be best to ask about a specific part.
