mercury 120 4cyl removal help

ok due to bad transom the motor is being removed
i see at the rear two large bolts to the inner gimbal plate do I just remove them and take the bell housing out with the motor attached

is there a link some place to this kind of info or a vid I have surfed you tube with out luck

select forward and remove drive first then remove bolts as described and undo mounting bracket from floor and remove lump

+ remove everything attached to the engine prior to removing. ie fuel lines, many electrical connections, and cables.
the oem service manual can be seen here. it'll have the oem step by step removal process in it.

The only thing I would add - regarding the "many electrical connections" - you shouldn't have to disconnect many electrical connections. Most of the things on the engine will stay connected. Simply pull the main electrical harness and the main battery connections. Then a couple ground wires. Look around and, as the others have said, disconnect whatever looks necessary.
