Mercury 140hp Plug type question

Im replacing the plugs in my 1978 mercury 1400, it has Champion L76V's in now, but I have for some reason 3 new ngk buhxw-1's laying around, so I would just have to buy three more. Iv'e been searching old threads & came away with these plugs run a little hot? Will these work for me? Thanks alot!

The NGK BUHW plugs are the replacement for Champ L-76V. I do not think the plugs you have are for that application.

Those plugs are only about $2 ea. at normal Auto Parts places. I recommend the correct plugs.....
