Recently bought this boat and it was running great, then it started to have a puddle of gas inside the engine cover area didn't think much of it figured it was because I primed it to much with the ball or whatever since I am realivielty new to outboards very fimilar with inboards......so the next time out it was getting real hard to start after an hour of sitting fishing, so I took it home did all the spark plugs replaced as much fuel line as I possibly could, new fuel filters, new primer ball the boat started up instantly in my drive way, took it on the lake today and same problem except this time there was a steady stream of gas coming out from the engine cover area leaking into the blidge area of the boat.....where do I go from here? Boat was even HARDER to start this time around after sitting for a little while.....I assume what's happening is the floats are sticking? Flooding out the engine

Did you take the cowl off to see where the gas was leaking? With that much gas pouring out, it shouldn't be too hard to see where it's coming from.

When you squeeze the bulb, does it get hard? If no - Carb rebuild time.

Once I pull the cowl off the gas is just coming out from behind the black piece that sits in front of all 3 carbs. I have rebuilt all 3 carbs before I took it out again yesterday. I also read the enricher valve could be working improperly causing the motor to flood out at low idle

So, I ran the boat yesterday on the muffs 10 min later I shut it off and a steady stream of gas was over flowing from the bottom 2 carbs, took them off adjusted the floats a little bit ran it for 30 minutes shut if off and no more fuel pouring out. The inside of the carb bodies was just "damp" with fuel which I would expect is normal. What I did notice is the battery is real slow to crank the engine over so today I will replace the battery and see how it goes. I assume the weak battery didn't help my starting situation either.

Make sure the battery cables are clean and sound. I had the ring terminal on the positive cable come off in my hand a few days ago. It was fine before that.

Yes, I will do that as well. Also, theres about 3-4 ft EXTRA of battery cable inside the battery compartment, I was thinking of cutting them shorter to help with this issue as well.

Just wanted to give an update. I adjusted the floats in the carb now the boat runs PERFECT. Idles great, doesn't stall out in gear idling to the trailer, starts up first crank after sitting. I also replaced the battery as well.
