Yes, they were rated at the powerhead. There are standard percentage reductions in power for helical cut gears in the gearcase. Also, the motors just need to be plus or minus 10% of rated power.

I would figure 125-135HP for that Merc 1500, at the prop. You can look up the gearcase loss if you are really interested.

I agree with Chris, generally assume 120 hp with todays gas and reduced timing to accommodate it. /either way, your Carlson is gonna fly
