I have a Trophy 1802 with a Merc 115, we do not often use this engine and it actually has about 100 hrs total if that. While coming across the lake the engine rpm pulsed to 5500 but we could only do about 6 knots, normally with the boat configured for fishing/camping we are able to do about 28 knots.. Kept trying to stop and go but that was all it would do. Came back to the dock with the 9.8 kicker. We were able to use it at very low speed. Has a 13.75 x 17 Quick Silver prop, and new Flow Torque II hub. Boat shop thought a new 4 blade prop and new Flow Torque is the answer. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Hi Scott,
Thanks for the reply. I did check when we got off the water. Put the engine in drive and tried to turn the prop. It did move some but not a quarter of a turn. So I did not think that was the problem. I will try the new 4 blade and hub kit later this week to see if that solves the problem. I did call the Mercury facility about the new prop and they told me the only way to find out if it will work is go try it out. I was hoping for a different answer, did not want to spend a 170.00 for a test but I suppose they are correct, go try it out, and hope it works. If not the engine must go to a mechanic.
Thanks
Paul
