my 95 225 has been blowing (popping) a bleed line. I replaced lines and problem is continuing. I later noticed the oil tank is not depresurizing and I belive it may be overpresurized causing my problem. I check diagram at parts express and all ckeck valves are in proper direction. I may add it blows one particular hose each time. In parts express I don't see a depressure valve. Is it the "L" shape "fitting below the oil tank on motor? Any suggestions?

man I have not seen them blow a hose off before. Are you using the right size hose? The only other thing I could think of is the reed valves on that cylinder (where its blowing off). Backpressure from open reeds could blow it, but you should be hearing "coughing and sneezing" coming back through the carb, especially at idle.

you might want to check out this previous post of mine. re: the oil tank.

The reserve tank has been holding pressure for weeks at a time. I didn’t think anything of this as it has done this sense I have had the boat. I found that this is NOT normal. The valve that comes from the engine and supplies the pressure to the remote tank is supposed to bleed off the pressure after 5-10 min. When I checked the valve there was no bleed off occurring. Purchased a new valve and it bleed off as described. So after changing the pressure check valve I have cured the problem.

Check Valve number 21-878105 1

Robalofish..the valve you are talking about screws into the engine block right, on the right side and the oil line connects to it. How do you check them to see if they are good? What makes them bleed off pressure afetr 5-10 minutes? shheeess, no wonder some guys disable their oil injection..lol...thanx for all the help

If the tank is holding air pressure, valve is most likely bad. If it is then follow the oil hoses down to the engine one will go to the reservoir tank and the other will got to the "pulse valve" remove the valve and blow into it you should be able to blow some air thru it. It’s not that expensive while it’s out you might as well change it. Someone else suggested that the small check valve in the oil line should probably be changed as well good idea mine had already been changed. Re-install valve and you should be good to go. Mine has worked great after changing the valve.

As to why it beeeds off I'm not sure probably small hole (probably why it fails : dirt etc.)

My pulse (check valve) came in from the merc dealer. New valve is a little differnt from orginal. It has a fine screen that back preasure is readily released from. Mine was clogged and was causing over preasure that would blow holes in or pope bleed lines off, inaddition to the oil tank preasurazation. The mercury machanic told me that faulty bleed lines was main reason merc oil injections fail.

Let us know if that fixes your problem. Was it hard to start and excessive smoke at start up too?
