Mercury 25 Flywheel Magnets

Need some help with my 1996 Mercury 25. My flywheel has started to rust underneath and recently one of the magnets broke off. I ordered a new one on eBay, part numbers matched
up. I just found out that the new flywheel has four magnets while my old one only had two. Would this work for my motor the way it is? My motor has no charging system or electric start.

Are you sure that new flywheel is correct? Never seen that flywheel with 4 magnets. would not be the first time part #s were not listed correctly on used parts.

Yeah it could definitely been the wrong part number listed but here is a picture of the new flywheel. The two extra magnets seem to be on the opposite sides so I’m wondering if I could remove both of them and the flywheel would remain balanced.

None of mine have 4 magnets.
