My brother is needing to remove the lower unit on his 02 mercury 25hp remote steer. Other than the bolts, is there anything else that must be disconnected to remove the lower unit?
My brother is needing to remove the lower unit on his 02 mercury 25hp remote steer. Other than the bolts, is there anything else that must be disconnected to remove the lower unit?
the shift linkage for forward and reverse. dont know that model well but i know it will have to be disconnected most of the time it can be disconnected at the lower part of the engine inside the housing. you release it from there and the whole foot slides off with the linkage rod attached. i put my motor in neutral so the foot is in neutral and i will know what position the linkage goes back together in. not hard once ya start im am a tinkerer but im sure others can give better advice IF! they comment? good luck!
