Just got a new boat (new to me). A 98 pursuit 2470 cc. The boat is beautiful and runs great. My problem is this... Its a 24ft boat with a 250hp merc on it and Im only hitting 35-37 mph at WOT and its terrible on fuel. I was thinking of possibly doing a repower but not sure if its worth it. I would really like more speed (at least 10mph) and better fuel economy. I know its a conflict there. Would it help to change the prop? I have a 3 blade SS 19 pitch by 15 1/4. Do i need to repower? 2 stroke, 4 stroke? Twins, Single? I like the boat a lot and plan on keeping it for years.
