I have a chance to get an '06 mercury 60 hp 4 stroke. Just wondering if they are reliable engines. It has 5 hours of use on it. Was taken off of a new boat to install a larger power plant apparently. They are asking $4500 for it. I was thinking of going 4 grand. Sound like a good deal or......

Would be replacing a 1968 65 hp merc. Boat can handle up to 90 but the 65 doesn't seem bad when it's running so I would think a good running newer plant should push it along nicely.

Check on the weight difference. Losing a few ponies and picking up weight at the same time could be disappointing.
