I have a 1983 Mercury 40 2 stroke. It seems that I get no spark at the plugs when it is chilly or cold. When the temps rise later in the day, it will fire right up and start. I am questioning the ignition switch as it does look rough and the wiring job someone did on it is questionable. But the difference in temps is throughing me off. Any ideas????? I tried starting the boat 3 days in a row once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Samething each time. No spark in the morning and fires up and runs good in the afternoon. Wanted to make sure I wasn`t imagining things.
