Mercury 400

I am now the owner of a 1961 Merc. 400.
It has a2 blade brass prop.
I was wondering what the hp would bed and how much it weights.
It is part of a doner boat 1971 Glastron.
Also where will the serial 3 be.

Hi Jeff,
The 4-cylinder Merc 400 was rated at 45hp, and weighs between 140 and 150 lbs.
Serial number would be in two places - on the swivel bracket tag between the clamp brackets, and stamped on the cylinder block, up near the flywheeel.
