mercury 40hp 4stroke

Some advise, i have found 2017 mercury new never ran at a decent price. I have done some research and am told that mercury is cast in china and put together in japan. Not sure if this is right, any body have any experience with this motor. Would anyone recommend this motor?

I have a 2010 30 HP, really like it . Runs my 14 foot Lund about 25 MPH. It gets oil changed and winterized every year.

I have one of those exact engines and they work great! They are very easy to maintain and run very well on our 16ft skiffs with 4 people and a load of gear. The only thing I have had issues with over the years is the starter motors on them which seem to go after a few years, however, I also run ours with salt water and no means of rising with fresh water! Would 100% recommend though. What boat are you running it on?
