Mercury 500 / 50 H.P. Four Cylinders
Motor s/n 2479050 Year prob. 1968

The motor has never charged the battery since I bought it. I attributed the problem to the rectifier since at a glance you could see it burned. I decided to fix the problem and bought a rectifier and installed it. The motor is still not charging the battery. I checked the new rectifier of the circuit and the readings are ok. The seloc book does not have the readings of the stator. The stator they refer to has different cables. Will anybody that has one of this motor please check the measurament of the stator when disconnected from the rectifier?

I checked their website, they do not have a stator.

Actually, looks like the stator is discontinued. Is there is a place where I can take the one I have and they can fix it?

Nandy, a friend of mine in Shelton, WA has quite a few 50hp parts, he can probably hook you up with the stator and whatever else you need. I don't see any way to send a P.M. or otherwise contact you privately. If you'll leave your e-address (feel free to disguise it as necessary for anti-spam), I'll forward it to my friend.

HTH....ed
