please could someone tell me the age of my outboard motor serial no, 9233982 and the correct no, on the stator i have 398-5454a21 on it in white writing and 0404 stamped in it also the stator mounting ? does it come of after the 4 bolts are undun or is it not as simple as that, hope you can understand my english as we pronounce things differant sometimes, thank you for looking, shane, my email is sgf_1111@yahoo.co.uk

chassie no, 1480 7217e on the head no, 1017-6636 been told its 1978 model now i would like to know about the stator i will try to add photo

I can't help with the serial number as I don't have numbetrs for non US built engines but just remove the 4 allen head screws and the wires and the stator will lift off

thanks i have done that now i need to take the bracket of which the stator came of there are 4 bolts that i have undun but will not come off maybe with force but i dont want to do this yet will this be ok or does the engine have to come apart
