Mercury 60 - Torque Spec's

I have a 1984 Mercury 60 S/N 6429362

I am trying to install the exhaust port cover, intake transfer cover, and cylinder block cover (Over the cylinder heads. It covers the water jacket at the spark plugs).

I have searched the Seloc manual and cannot find the torque spec's for these.

Can anybody help me find the spec's OR know what they are?

i have the same motor as you. i'll look in my merc manual when i get home and post them for you

If i remember correctly its 70 INCH pounds...............

fatzbullet: Thank You! Which one is 70 in-lbs? I did find a mechanic and he said the exhaust was 200 in-lbs. It was the only one he could find. Needless to say, if it was the "only one he could find", I am not sure I trust it. I would think each one would be slightly different... Or at least the exhaust would be higher due to the higher pressure in that area.

But I want to make sure I get them all correct,

exhaust covers: size-5/16 is 200 in. lbs.
size-1/4 is 115 in. lbs.

transfer cover: 160 in. lbs.

cylinder block cover: 70 in. lbs.
