I'm trying to replace the input seals on my outboard and I can't get the prop shaft out. Is there a trick to doing this? I watched the video "Mercury 40HP Input Shaft Seal Replacement" and the prop shaft seems to come right out. I've tried putting the engine in drive natural and reverse. The housing came out easy, but the prop shaft won't come out. The shaft moves a little, but I'm scared to use too much force because in the video it comes out really easy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
