mercury 700 70hp?

hello new to the forums and had a couple questions,i just traded my 12' v-hull for a mark150 15' w/a mercury 700 70 hp motor,where can i find the serial/model #,also where is the trim control located,thanks in advance for any help,looking forward to getting it in the deleware,and having fun with the family....

Good job on your trade. the Ser # should be located either on the front of the lower cowling or underneath. If you're looking for the trim control you need to make sure you have PTT.

Thank you for you help,one more ? Not sure if it's related but here goes on my sidemount mercontrol on the front of the box there is a plastic cap covering a rubber what looks like a small 110 household plug what is this?

3-prong plug is for tach and voltmeter operation.

Agreed many of these motors do not have power T&T.

Serial number should be on a little placard riveted to the cover over the tilt tube, just under the removable front cowling face piece. That placard can get covered with muck, may need to wipe it off.

thanks so much for helping the noob,i want to take the motor in for a general tune up,so i dont get hosed,what does a general tune up on this motor consist of?also ballpark cost? thanks again

Just figure most dealers charge about $94 an hour plus parts.
