Mercury 70hp (1989) Outboard replacement parts from a 1995 Merc outboard

Hello ,
New to boating and i have a 70 hp Merc outboard. 2 Stroke oil injected. Think it's a 1989 motor. A friend has a 1985 Merc 70 hp he is selling. I want to buy this motor off him for spare parts. Is it possible to use the prop, lower unit, housing, starter, etc. as extra parts for my 1989 70 hp merc?

Post the serial numbers.---------There is a new style 70 hp and the older style.-----Not much interchanges between the 2 models.
