mercury 850 85 hp wiring diagram ? + learning bout specs on the motor

we got given a 17.5 foot cobra ski boat with a mercury 85 horse 850 blue tin on the motor it was purchased new in canada thats all the info i have .....we need to replace most of the wiring from the boat to the motor and entering into the motor our problem is we cant figure out what year the darn motor is the sticker is long since gone and i dont know where to locate another place to look for that info we are hoping to enjoy this boat not pass it along to some body else any help is happily accepted

update i found a stamped number on the motor behind the throttel doo hickeys levers it is 7082080 under the flywheel on the left side of the motor looking from the back
the original sticker was removed or degraded by time
we are thankful for your help

i looked at maxrules.com how did you come up with a 1976 ???

Your serial number is higher that 7071373, which is the start of 1976, but lower than 7091098, which is the start of 1977.
