Mercury 850 need help wiring

I just bought a boat with a Mercury 850,wiri wi harness cut off no ignition switch,I need help wiring in a new switch.

I recently replaced a key switch with a generic one not Mercury and the instructions Plus the Mercury wiring color chart made it fairly simple with a little bit of thought how to wire everything up and it worked no problem

The year of the motor will dictate the wiring colors and therefore their functions. The two choices are:

Older wire colors: red, black, white, grey, brown and yellow and orange

Newer Wire colors: red, black, purple, yellow/black, grey yellow/red, black/yellow
